In Emerald, the canvas becomes a living testament to the overarching philosophy of the Our Planet series: the transformation of rigid borders into infinite, open horizons. Divided with the intentionality of the golden ratio, the composition sets up a profound dialogue between two distinct physical and temporal realms.

Below, the lower band represents geological time. It is dense, textured, and ancient. It is built from the raw, ancestral weight of earth powders, bitumen, and layered materials that suggest a deeply rooted past. Above this rich, tactile ground lies the suspended time of the upper field: a vast, breathing expanse of luminous emerald teal. This field of color functions not as a passive background, but as a space of pure atmosphere, light, and boundless possibility.

The threshold between these two worlds is marked by a stark, textured horizon line. Resting upon and breaking through this boundary are bold, vibrant fragments of intense orange and copper tones. Rather than acting as barriers, these sharp mineral shapes act as focal points of energy. The largest fragment stands tall, straddling the line between the ancient earth and the open sky, anchoring the composition while simultaneously pulling the viewer's eye upward into the emerald expanse. It embodies the essence of a border that has chosen to stay open, like a structural limit transformed into an invitation to discover what lies beyond.
