The White Bunny

Reclaimed material contemporary art gives voice to forgotten fragments of life by transforming urban refuse into poetic narratives. As part of my ongoing Stories series, this three-dimensional piece rescues abandoned resources, reflecting my personal journey across borders and reinventions. I construct the composition on a discarded advertising panel made of honeycomb cardboard, creating an intriguing dialogue between industrial scrap and gentle storytelling.

On a corrugated cardboard advertising panel that I found discarded in Barcelona - a fragment of the city, an abandoned piece of communication - a quiet story unfolds. A small white bunny, wearing a pink diadem that hints at belonging to a child who cherished sweet, gentle objects, re-emerges from pigments suspended in epoxy resin. It is a character that once knew affection and later oblivion, an object that travelled through time without a role. Within the Stories series, this work restores a voice to what has been cast aside: the bunny becomes the protagonist of a new, fragile, luminous narrative in which recovered matter is not merely support but becomes memory. I use resin, in chromatic stratifications, to bind together heterogeneous fragments and transform them into an emotional landscape. The piece speaks of care, second chances, and what remains when everything seems lost. It is a small contemporary myth born from salvage. It is a gesture of listening toward what no longer has anyone to look at it.

Working with discarded items allows me to explore vulnerability, memory, and spatial belonging. I consciously preserve the character of each found component, letting past scars inform the final visual balance. The crowned bunny mirrors anyone who has experienced displacement and found unexpected footing again.
